The work takes shape through two dimensions. First, a 3D object – either created or found – and then the painting. In this way, I reveal two aspects of myself: what I create with my hands and how the 3D object should be viewed. The painting is my eyes, my window. And through painting, I can capture the atmosphere of the object.

Creating the object is an important process, because it allows the mind to switch off. Making the object is therefore a quiet process; the painting becomes a still life.
